I am the freeholder of a three storey property in SE London. Rentguard has provided buildings insurance for the property for the last considerable number of years in the full knowlege that the top floor was sold by me in 1988 on a 99 year lease. The lower two floors are rented by me as shorthold tenancies.

My renewal invitation from Rentguard arrived within days of my being notified by one of my tenants that there was a 'to let' notice displayed in relation to the top floor flat.

I phoned Rentguard to ask advice on this situation. Their advice was that they had withdrawn cover with immediate effect.

I e-mailed Helpdesk to ask for help. The response I received was that Helpdesk does not give advice relating to leasehold problems.

I shall be looking for a new association to represent and advice me.
