We are private landlords and want to know if we rent a house to somebody who is registered blind and their partner is disabled whether once they move in, we have to undertake requests for modifications to the property?

The house is newly refurbished and they have been in a few weeks and have said they need a large number of hand rails in the bathroom (i.e. drilling into tiles). They have also said, they would prefer a larger shower and apprently they can get a whole new bathroom installed free of charge.

Can we say no? Surely they shouldn't have taken the property if it wasn't suitable for their needs?

Are there any laws which private landlords must adhere to when renting to disabled people?
