The tenant paid 1 month rent on check in and then paid a second month rent on 18th October without being asked. The tenant has been staying with a relative and hasn't moved her belongings in as yet and the landlord has confirmed that he will not charge rent until works are complete.
We have received an email from a local solicitors informing us that the tenant wants to terminate the tenancy and wants the 2 months rent back. The solicitor seems to be under the impression that no works have commenced.
Please could you advise as to what our obligations are as well as the tenant's.
