Hi,

I have just received a phone call from my tenant regarding a letter she received today.

The letter is from the bailiffs and refers to debt incurred by my previous tenants boyfriend. It says they will be turning up tomorrow to remove goods due to monies outstanding.

Apparently it is not the first time they have visited. She did tell them he is not at the property and the debt is nothing to do with her, but this has clearly fallen on deaf ears.

What can the bailiffs do tomorrow? Can they access the property? Can they take goods even though none belong to the debtor?

What should my tenant do?

What should I do to try and get the situation resolved?

All help appreciated.

Thanks

Amanda
