I purchased the freehold of my maisonette, with the owner of the downstairs maisonette. Roof work is required and i am told we are both liable... but now the downstairs flat also has damp issues relating to their addition of paving stones on the front garden (which is not my property.)

As joint freeholder I thought I was liable for 50/50 on roof and drainage/sewerage issue...am i liable for every repair they make to their property?

I am the top floor, and they are ground.

And i don't seem to have any paperwork to determine exactly what is covered.

Can you help?
