If you cancel a cheque before the courts have even opened the application are they still allowed to demand that 110 fee? I cancelled cheque dif after posting as tenant left. I emailed the bow bailiffs directly advising that there services were not needed. Yet days later I received the next stage showing they were progressing towards eviction. So I phoned, spoke to a bailiff and he said it takes them 3 weeks to see emails but that he'd marked my case as closed. I emailed again to be sure then over 1 week after that I receive a threatening letter ordering me to pay up and clearly indicating they belive the eviction request remains.

Can I be held liable? The tenant was due to pay costs but I promised I'd cancel if she'd really go as goodwill gesture (cost 10 to cancel) all via agent.

Could this affect my credit rating?

Any ideas please
