We believe that a tenant has changed the front door lock - this is in breach of the tenancy agreement "not alter or change or install any locks on any doors or windows in or about the Premises or have any additional keys made for any locks without the prior consent of the Landlord". We have hand delivered 2 letters advising that we wish to inspect the property giving specific dates and times and requesting that if the lock has been changed to provide us with a key. On our first visit yesterday the tenant was not there and we have rearranged to go back today. We have received no response to our letters. If the tenant is not there today and the lock has been changed, is the landlord within their rights to then change the lock. The tenant would then have to make contact with ourselves to regain access to the property.
