1 Thanks
I'm leaving the country and renting out to people that I (vaguely) know but (mostly) trust....I have been advised to do a 6 month tenancy but when we discussed this, it appears that most people's experience was that tenancies tended to be for 12 months. I am going abroad for a year and it could be quite useful for me to have them commit to the 12 months as it (should) mean less worry for me having to find other tenants, if it came to that, whilst I'm away.

Are there any other benefits of the 6 months, other than you can ask them to leave earlier if necessary (which I really can't see me needing to do!)

Thanks very much!!
