Hi

I have been approached by a local council body with a tenant. The possible new tenant has been an asylum seeker and I believe now they are allowed to stay. They work 16 hours a week and the council will guarantee the rent direct for 12 months with an initial 250 prevention payment? Plus a council bond.

However the property they are in presently, is supplied by a large company who specialises in housing asylum seekers. The tenant has a delayed eviction but the council body says its not an eviction to do with anything the tenant has done. Although they are not giving much more information.

How can I find out the reason for the eviction? I have met the possible tenant and seen where they live. They seem decent and also have a child at the local school. So they could be long term tenants.
