We recently disputed a Council Tax bill. The Council did not respond to the queries we raised in and email to them, details of which we have retained. The Council in question have now obtained a summons. We have asked the Council to withdraw the summons on the basis that the account is in dispute. We wish to avoid going to court to answer the summons. Can you suggest how we might get the Council to withdraw. They are acting wholly unresaonably in obtaining a summons when the account is in dispute.
