Hi
I usually ask my tenants to show me evidence that all utilities are paid up to date, on a twice yearly basis. A tenant has objected to this as she feels it is not my concern. However I was of the belief that if a property has high arrears in utilities it is possible for the property itself to be black listed and any future tenants might have difficulty gaining credit whilst residing at that address.
Is that correct or am I worrying unnecessarily and stop checking tenants are paying utilities?
Thanks
Charlotte
