I let a property to a sole occupier using a 6 month AST.

The tenancy is now a periodic and I have just found out that the tenant's son has moved into the property.

Is this significant legally?

For example if the mother died would the tenancy pass to the son?

Or, if she moved out and he remained, would possession be problematic if he resisted?

He is not paying me any rent and there have been no other problems so far.

Many thanks,
