I have one house that I have Let to a friend in a different area.
He sublets [with permission] to tenants.
Am I correct that he does not need to have a client account?
- He does not accept rent on my behalf, rather he accepts rent on his behalf.
- He does not hold and then pass on original tenants rent to me, rather he has to pay me the amount that we agreed between us as rent.
- (We have agreed that any required or agreed works can be deducted form the rent he pays me.)
Furthermore, is it correct that the person I let to is considered the landlord with regards to the new sublet tenant, and it is his name and contact details that he needs to provide as landlords and for s48? As well as for any council notices.
