One of my tenants is proving difficult now that his tenancy is coming to a close.
Far from being an ideal tenant, the issues are:
- Fixing to the wall a whiteboard without my permission
- Installing a new lock on this door(HMO) without my permission
- Introducing bed bugs to the house, mostly in his room, but i had to treat the entire house.
What is the sensible way to go about seeking these damages?
Unfortunately, the agency employed at the start of the tenancy has vanished with everyone's deposits, and that matter is now in the hands of the police. So, i don't have his deposit to draw from...
Also, surely the law cannot expect me to foot the bill for his lost deposit to the fraud agency?
