Hi. Our tenant passed away on 12th March 2015. The family haven't informed us, Wigan Council has emailed and told us.
The lease expires on 16th April 2015. The names on the lease are the mother (the deceased) and her son who is 18 years old and attends college. The son never signed the lease. Is this a straight forward case of when the lease expires we can ask the son to vacate the house? Or do we have to give 2 months notice to quit.
There is minimal correspondence from the family, so we think the son is still in the house. We are not aware of what they intend to do in regards of removing the mother's furniture etc.
There was a large rent arrears issue but the family paid 500.00 off their bill 2 days before the mother died. Wigan council is paying the remaining 840.00 arrears on 6th April.
Regards
