GDPR documents to tenants
I have noticed over the past week or so that the RLA checklist includes the provision of both the Landlord, and Letting Agent GDPR documents to tenants.
prior to this I hadnt seen anything in the lettings press, or a variety of email/newsletters I subscribe to.
What are the consequences of my agent not providing both of our GDPR documents?
Will it prevent a Sec 21 Notice, (either at all, like the Gas safety, or until provided, like the EPC)?
Will it allow tenants to claim anything from me?
I plan to send my own GDPR to all of my tenants over the next few days, but I dont have much control over whether my agent provided his.
Once I know the downsides - the actual related law or regulations, I'll be in a position to decide what to do.
