I am remortgaging my flat and the conveyancer has requested the block management company to furnish them with the following information:block insurance, outstanding ground rent and outstanding service charge in order to complete the remortgage.
The block management company has refused to provide the information stating that there is a cockroach infestation in the flat and they are not going to provide any information till the cockroach infestation is treated.(At the moment treatment is ongoing)
My initial mortgage rate ended in June and because of the delay I have to pay the standard variable interest rate on the mortgage which is an extra of about £200.
What right have they got to withhold information from the conveyancer?
I want to put in a complaint because this is costing me a lot of money.
Who do I complain to?
Regulatory body of block management companies(Who are they?) and/or Information commissioner.
