Hello, this is my first post as I'm very new to this game.

I am about to purchase a property which i intend to use as a BTL. Numerous lenders (those with the best rates) require you to be a residential homeowner to be able to access their mortgages. Although I used to own my own home, I sold this when i moved in with my girlfriend a few years ago - she had her own house, with a mortgage - which we now live in together. We're now married so my question is whether this now constitutes me being a residential homeowner? I'm not on the title deeds but by law (through marriage) we now share everything 50/50.

I'm just not sure how to answer the question (from Post Office/Virgin Money etc) as to whether I'm a residential homeowner.

Any advice much appreciated.
