The properties that I rent out all have a number of battery operated Smoke Alarms.

I mention to the Tenants that they should test that the Alarms are working on a Regular Basis by pressing the Test Button. if there are any problems then let me know.

Is this adequate or is the Landlord supposed to check each smoke alarm personally?

Are there any Regulations which state that the smoke alarms should be of the type permanently connected to the mains electricity supply and that they have to be tested and certificated by an approved electrician?

Thank You
