I am a newbie landlord and have only been letting my property for four months. I took someones advice on here and notified the HMRC as soon as I started collecting rent rather than let it lie for too long.
I have received a letter from HMRC acknowledging my rental property. Their letter has asked for a breakdown of my property expenses EG Insurance, repairs etc Plus the amount of profits I have earned in the relevant years ?
As I have mentioned I am only four months into letting the property.
Can someone advise on the things I need to supply HMRC with, and will my tax code be affected already or will it happen next tax year ?
