I have just viewed my tenant's bathroom and it is in a shocking state. Not through misuse but just wear and tear. I have had a quote to have it refurbished, and am getting another quote tomorrow. The bath is worn completely, tiles hanging off the wall, (resulting in her not being able to use the shower because of water leaking behind the bath), and so on. So, I am not having a complete redesign, just repaired and having the bath, wc, and tiles replaced, etc. The first quote has come in at around 3000 pound plus. Do I put this on my self assessment tax return? If yes, what paperwork do I need to submit, and or photos, to prove the work has been done.
