Changing tenanted property from privately owned to company ownership
I have a flat I rent to a single tenant, and have done so for several years. The original term of the tenancy has been exceded, and is now running on a rolling monthly basis. The deposit is protected by the deposit protection scheme.
I wish to sell the flat to a limited company I have set up, and the tenant wishes to stay.
I would welcome advice as to how to manage this - do I simply ask the tenant to agree to terminate the existing tenancy on a mutually convenient date, sign a contract for a new tenancy with the company starting on the same day, and refund their deposit from the first tenancy agreement, and ask them to pay it back to me?
