Hello,
I have had tenants in a flat for 4 and a half months. In that time they have told me they want to leave/stay/leave and now again stay. Tenancy ends end of September. They (at the moment) want to renew but I am concerned that they might change their mind at the last minute and I end up with an empty property. If they sign a new agreement for the renewal, is it legally binding from that date or from the date of the start of the new tenancy? If they then change their mind, can I charge them rent under the new AST until I source other tenants?
Regards SB
