Repairing Front Door Lock
A tenant WhatsApp’d me at 22:30 last night to say they couldn’t lock the front door, but I didn’t get the message until 11:30 this morning. Rather than calling me, the tenant called a locksmith directly and agreed to pay £59.00 plus materials. Their later WhatsApp message said the lock was fixed, the cylinder was loose but ok, and the Yale lock was worn but OK for a further year. They have now asked me to pay £188.40, but I am at a loss as to the additional cost and have asked for an explanation.
I would have paid the £59.00 without further thought, but and not least because of the tenant's poor attitude over this I don’t feel like paying the additional £129.40!
