I have on my newer inventories that smoke alarms have been checked on that date [which may be before they move in and not always AST start date].My older inventories do no mention smoke alarms.

A few questions;

One tenant asked me to screw smoke alarms on the top of the door frame not the ceiling. So they could reach them. Am I covered legally ?

Is it sufficient to text or email tenants before 1st Oct and ask if they have checked smoke alarms are working and they are happy with them?

if smoke alarms are on each floor but possibly in just a bedroom instead of a hall is this legally ok?

I aim to go around all the houses and check things are up to date and advise tenant's to check alarms once a month. Also fit carbon dioxide alarms even though they are not required. However I can not do all these before 1 St Sept.
