Hello to everyone out there and especially anyonewho may be able to help me.

I rented out my property to a woman and man on a verbally agreed joint tenancy because the woman had moved into the property without my consent. She paid me rent but could never meet me to sign the contract. The man understood that the tenancy was joint. I lodged the deposit in his name as the lead tenant and gave them the prescribed information.

Now the woman is suing me for 1250 ( deposit plus x2 deposit) because she claims the contract was a verbal single occupancy tenancy, she claims that I should have put the deposit in her name and that I didnt give her the prescribed information.

She has also basically trashed my house and it will cost a thousand pounds to put right.

How can I prove that she is lying and that she knew the tenancy was joint???
