Dear all..

I am experienced (2 houses, 5 years) Buy2Let landlord from Scotland (and the law is different up north) and am buying a house in Surrey with existing tenants, managed through a letting agent. Address for noticers will be letting agent (Surrey).

My solicitor has pointed out errors in existing lease and current owner is getting those fixed. Current owner is writing to advise I am taking over.

What other steps should I take to protect myself when taking over the lease &property?

I'm assuming, belt-and-braces, that it would be extra safer is I wrote, recorded signed for, to each of the 4 tenants (students)(one tenancy not 4) advising of my adress for notices etc, copying letting agent ??

(I do not want to find something has been missed &I have lost some rights..)

Regards &thanks in advance.

Phillip
