Dear RLAa/other landlords

Can I just check please that I am doing the right things to remove someone from a tenancy:

1 Mother and son took out a joint AST on my property whilst father/husband was in prison (she was known to me and desperately needed somewhere to live)
2 AST has run over the initial period of 6-months and is now a periodic tenancy
3 Husband/father is now out of prison and rehabilitating in the rented property with wife/son
4 Husband and wife have now confirmed their wish for a new AST and have asked the son to be removed from any arrangement (though he will be remaining at the address.

Just need to check that I am intending to do everything right:

a) I need to get him to sign a paper/letter asking for his name to be removed from the current tenancy arrangements and relinquish any interest he had (has) in the tenancy deposit and AST (now periodic)
b) set up new AST, reprotect deposit, etc etc standard stuff for new tenancy
c) anything else?

Advice gratefully received, Mrs D
