Can a tenant leave early and not pay balance of rent due when they have been given a properly signed S21 by landlord with at least two months notice. Tenant is on a periodic and will have to find new accommodation so sympathetic to their plight as his home is being sold. His rent day is 26th of month so if he finds new accommodation by 16th say, before notice ends, would landlord have to refund him for rent paid in advance when not in flat. Or is tenant still liable contractually and any rebate would be discretionary/by negotiation.
