I am the owner of ex council flat, the leaseholder, and Westminster Council are the freeholders. I pay service/maintenance charges. Additionally we are subjected to Major Works Project and the proposal this year is for work estimated at £70,000 but the administration costs are £463,000 a total spend of £533,000. I understand from the lease the freeholder can expect the leaseholders to pay their 'reasonable' costs.
However, although the Council have amended these estimates several times the principle remains that the admin costs are several times more than the actual benefit/building work. I have complained to the Ombudsman and the London Residential Property first tier Tribunal. I need help preparing my case for both these avenues.
