I am just about to rent out the house that I have been living in as I am moving abroad. I a small pond in the garden.
When I asked a rental agent around to get an idea of the rental rate of the property, the agent comment on the bond and said that I (as the landlord) would be liable should an "accident" occur because of the pond. I can only imagine that the rental agent was talking about the drowning of a person in the pond.
The question I pose is - would I be liable in the event that a person/child drowned in my pond?
If anyone could help me with this matter it would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to have to fill in the pond - it really is a great feature in the garden.
Thanks
