Flooring fitted by former tenant
I have been approached by a company (Carpets Paid Weekly Ltd) claiming that our former tenant was renting some laminate flooring from them, and has now ceased paying for it.
The tenants in question left at the start of October and had indeed left some laminate down in the front room, which I had given them permission to fit at their own cost (replacing the existing carpet).
The property has since re-let and with the flooring being re-useable I left it in, though the new tenant just moved in has asked to change it for carpet (at their cost) which I have agreed to.
Do I have any obligation towards this company, as I have no agreement or rental contract with them, or are they just trying it on? When the new tenant removes the laminate, I was simply going to skip it all, as we don't use it ourselves.
