Tenants leave mid-term in August 2015 as they split up, both informed that the deposit from the DPS will not be returned to cover the shortfall in rent ie void period whilst finding alternative tenants. The boyfriend now says, if i do not return the deposit he will be putting a claim for no win no fee personal injury whilst living in the flat, but if I return the deposit he will not follow the injury claim. The alleged injury happened when he lived in the flat but is only informing me today, and he says it was because there was no hand rail and bannisters on stairs, which he had removed to replace with stud work, insulation and correct plaster board (he is a builder). What should I do?
Thanks Dave
