Furnishing prior to ttenancy

My prospective tenants have asked if they can move some new furniture in prior to the start of the tenancy, what are the potential problems with this? I don't like to say no, but feel that there are probably reasons why I should?

I will have to be there, which takes time, so can I charge them?
Alternatively I could let them have a key, but there are risks attached to that.

They have passed references and have zerodeposit set up and ready to go.
Does it help if we have the AST signed with the date of occupation, as that wopuld legally bind them.

Or should I just say that they have to take the flat and be paying for it even if they don't actually live there, in order to use it for storing their stuff?
