Ive finally had some time to work out how the recent changes will affect our portfolio. The figures look grim, especially if you factor in the inevitable interest rate hike. Basically, the profit goes into losses and we will paying thousands extra in tax with no rental income to cover the tax bill.
I am not crying about this. It is good to have a profit and capital gain to lose.
However, I am minded to sell up and move on.
I was just wondering if others share the same opinion that the buy to let business model based on interest only mortgages is over?
Also, we now pay extra when we buy, pay extra when we rent. What next, we pay extra when we sell?
