I have a house on a long lease for ground rent. The new ground rent owner has written to me asking for proof of insurance. I have checked the lease and it does require me to insure the building.
I don't like it. I have never had a ground rent company pestering me for insurance proof before. I generally do not cover my properties for buildings insurance.
Doubtless most of you will say I should insure anyway but what I am really interested in is whether I should comply and whether they have any right to enforce this on me. I can see why a lender might enforce this right on me but not a ground rent collection management company.

This is my new name. I used to post under "nice guy".
