I have recently served a section 21 under the new regulations. The tenant is demanding to know why the landlord wishes to end the tenancy (which expires on 24th April 2016. The tenant has been to our local Council Office who have advised the tenant that the landlord cannot end the tenancy without a valid reason? they have stated that as the tenant is not in arrears or breached any of the tenancy agreement he does not have to leave and NO judge would grant possession. The landlord has recently had 3 cancer operations and is of ill health and the tenant is a VERY demanding tenant who wants evertying including bulbs changed this is making the landlord very stressed when he needs to be thinking of his health and requested that the tenant be served notice. I guess what I am asking is if the Council officer is correct?
