Council Tax Demand
Nottingham City Council (NCC) want payment that includes when a tenant was in contract, email extract below:
Our office has been advised by your letting agent by email on the 30th December 2019 that your former tenants, rental contract ended on the 1st October 2019 as such liability would revert to the owners from this date. ….. end of email extract.
The AST ran from 2nd of the month to 1st of the next. They're now including the 1st October as part of the void period.
I though Broadley vs Leeds established that if the tenant was in contract the landlord doesn't pay?
Are NCC trying to pull a fast one here, I know it's only a day, but to charge me on the same day the contract ends seems a bit unfair.
