When is an AST no longer an AST
The ASTs I have used in the past (yes, I should change to the RLA forms!) state: “3.2 If the tenant stays on after the end of the fixed term, his tenancy will continue but will run from month to month (a ‘periodic tenancy’).”
Question: is the tenancy still an AST after the fixed term? I have always understood that an AST has two phases (fixed period then periodic), but does the AST in fact morph into a Periodic Tenancy after the end of the fixed period?
