I'm in the process of applying for this new product from MX, and they seem to keep throwing more barriers in front of me at each turn. I'd be grateful for you advice, please (although I know that they might still disagree and say "not our policy"):

The ASTs I have used in the past (yes, I should change to the RLA forms!) state: “3.2 If the tenant stays on after the end of the fixed term, his tenancy will continue but will run from month to month (a ‘periodic tenancy’).”

Question: is the tenancy still an AST after the fixed term? I have always understood that an AST has two phases (fixed period then periodic), but does the AST in fact morph into a Periodic Tenancy after the end of the fixed period?

Many thanks!
