I have a standard RLA agreement with my tenant who lives in my basement flat. The flat has rising damp and needs a damp proof course installed in the walls. My tenant will have to move out for six weeks whilst the work is being done. I am wondering who is responsible for accommodating the tenant whilst the work is being done? Is it my tenant (with me reimbursing the rent for the period he is away from the flat), me or the freeholder (who is arranging the works and charging the costs to the service charges)? The flat is leasehold and the head lease doesn't say specifically whether it is the freeholder or me who is responsible for providing temporary accommodation.
