Have a Tenant who requested some damp proofing course to be done in the lounge, dining room and half the hall.

The Damp Proofing took 3-4 days.

Told Tenant that there would be a rent reduction for the period of 4 days.

The tenant moved in to her mothers for free 2 streets down for the period then did not move back in for 10 days whilst she re-decorated the property (decoration was done at her request and leisure - she would not accept any help despite many Landlord offers to help after the workmen left)

Landlord paid for the materials and tools.
Landlord was not aware that she had not moved back in after the workmen had gone.

Now the Tenant is stating that she should not have to pay rent for 10 day period.

Thoughts please....
