Due to a fault with a boiler in a rental, water was coming out of the external overflow pipe and running down the next door neighbours wall.

Unfortunately it has penetrated through and caused damage to the internal rooms which will now require redecorating.

His tenants say it had started a couple of days earlier which makes sense as that when my new tenants moved in and turned the boiler back on before going away for the weekend.

I attended and remedied the fault with the boiler within 24 hours of being notified (first call was on Bank Holiday Monday and I was three hours away, visited property on Tuesday).

Obviously the redecorating will be an insurance job. My question is, against who's insurance should the claim be made? I'm assuming my insurer may say that they only insurance only covers my building?

Thanks, in advance.
