Hi Dave,
I phoned one of your colleagues on this matter - she said not within RLA remit to advice on this matter.

Background:

We let some of our properties on blocks of three year lease to Housing Options West Midlands Limited. I believe they are Letting arm of G4 service provider to asylum seekers.

HOWM inspect the properties to ensure compliance with their criteria. Furnished let. We carry out most of the repairs. Rent is paid regardless the property occupied or not. We have excellent ongoing relationship with HOWM.
We use to specialise in Housing Benefit occupiers (about 80 units at one time). We have now adopted a policy of not letting to HB tenants. Approached HOWM to migrate more properties to them. They are very happy to take on our properties.

Problem:
The LA (Environmental Health), categorically instructed HOWM not to take on our properties! I have asked the LA for explanation and feel their action is ultra vires and unreasonable/unfair. No response from LA as yet. We have had on going issues with the LA but had always fully co-operated with them and complied with their instruction.

Please advise

Thanks
