Troublesome HB tenant, in arrears and Court date for Possession set for 12 October
last night the downstairs neighbour called me to tell me someone had bashed the front door in of my flat. I called Police and attended myself, tenant was at work and Police went to fetch her.
Nothing stolen, just door smashed and tenant claims she has no idea who did it.
Mortice lock completely smashed out, Yale lock still in situ and allows tenant to use key to get in, but is jammed so once in, you cannot get out without someone opening from outside. Heavy, expensive wooden door ruined.
Who is responsible? A) for immediate repairs and B) for replacement of door
I have buildings insurance but pretty sure no contents are included am tied to this product but freeholderNormal tenants would have household insurance but am sure this one wont have.
This is the tenant who I have trouble contacting too as she says her mobile is broken and she never answers home phone or the door so it will be difficult to arrange any repairs
