Tenant signed a six months tenancy from 19th September 2006 to 18th March 2007,paid six weeks deposit + one months rent. He kept up with rent payment up to November. Tenant stopped paying rent since november 2006. We tried to get in touch by phone but he wouldn't answer his phone. We learned from Mother (Whom he put down as next of kin) that he has moved out to his ex-wife's house and gave us the phone number. We wnet into flat to confirm that he has indeed moved out left the apartment fairly clean. We managed to track down tenant who claimed he lost his job and had to move in with ex-wife and that he still wants to keep the flat. We reminded him of his unpaid rent but his claimed he is trying to sort out a new job and that he will get back to us. When we didn't hear from him we sent him a letter requesting the rent and threating to go to court should he not pay at a specified date. As soon as he got the letter he called us to hand over the keys and promissed to pay the arreas. Since then he wouldn't take our calls or reply txt messages. What should we do?
