Claiming HMO registration costs
Completing my self-assessment tax return on property rental for the first time and would be grateful for a steer on some basics.
Am I right in assuming that HMO registration costs can be claimed as an expense? Would these come under 'rent, rates, insurance, etc'?
Also, do I need to apportion insurance costs etc to the tax year in question (ie claim for 4 months worth of my annual insurance premium)?
Wish HMRC would make these things clearer!
