Jury Service

I am currently on jury service for two weeks. Other self-employed jurors are naturally claiming for loss of earnings. As a full-time landlord who owns all the properties in my own name am I able to claim for loss of earnings (as self-employed)? Do you think I would be justified in doing so?

As most here will appreciate, being a landlord does not provide a passive income for most. There are may aspects of the job and day-to-day duties that I am having to put off while on jury service. However, it is difficult to quantify these as actual loss of earnings. For example, I am currently working on a refurb but will have to delay this. As I am undertaking most of the work involved, I wouldn't invoice myself as it's more a case of trying to minimise expenditure.

If anyone other landlords had any experience of this please let me know how you dealt with it,
