I have owned the same HMO for 33 years, the last inspection I had was in July 2015 and after some upgrades I was given my registration for an HMO for 6 single rooms with the proviso that at some time in the future the heating might have to be upgraded, about 10 days ago I had a visit from the Environmental Health and they consequently issued me with a prohibition order for one room and then another prohibition order for another room stating that the HMO requires central heating plus other minor upgrades, this was without consultation with me and both prohibitions came with a £300 fee. There is only electric at the HMO and Environmental Health are demanding economy 7 is installed at a price of £8000, is this correct procedure?
