Licencing of Residential Landlord property
I live as my only address in my shared home. Its a 4 bedroom 2 storey house. I let two rooms out as 'shared' accommodation to two Masters students.
The city council insists that I must be licensed as a HMO. The new act says '..within the private rented sector there will be an exemption for two person flat sharers, and properties where a resident landlord takes in up to two lodgers'
Secondly - What is the position now with the Govt's 'Rent a Room' scheme?
Can someone please clarify this.
