We let out a couple of student properties (one house with 4 students and one house with 5 students) Each time we begin a new tenancy we tend to print out 4/5 of every document and ask each student to sign each one. This is mainly so they all have an original signed copy. Could you let us know if it's acceptable to ask them all to sign one document (one tenancy agreement, one deposit protection certificate etc) and then email each of them a copy?
